Robberies
There was one robbery and one attempted robbery during the past week.
On Saturday, 02-22-25, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to Target at the Serramonte Center on a report of a robbery. An asset protection supervisor stated that he had observed two suspects select merchandise, conceal the items in bags they had brought into the store, and then go to the grocery section, where they placed items into a shopping cart. The suspects proceeded to the self-checkout, where they scanned and paid for the grocery items but not the concealed merchandise. The asset protection supervisor and several security employees contacted one of the suspects outside of Target. The suspect abandoned the shopping cart containing the merchandise and walked away. The asset protection supervisor then approached the second suspect after he passed through the security towers into the entryway. After the supervisor identified himself as asset protection, the second suspect dropped the merchandise he was holding, pushed a security guard out of his way, and exited the store. Both suspects fled in a white sedan. Approximately $440 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered. The first suspect was described as an Asian male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, wearing a brown shirt and black pants. The second suspect was described as a White male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, wearing a white shirt and beige pants.
On Sunday, 02-23-25, at approximately 2:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to Mission Street and Parkview Avenue on a report of an assault. The victim stated that after withdrawing money from her bank, she was walking when the suspect pushed her down from behind. The victim hit her face on the sidewalk, and as she attempted to get up, the suspect demanded her purse, grabbed it, and tried to take it from her. The victim managed to hold onto her purse, and the suspect fled on a bicycle. Later in the day, the suspect, a 15-year-old San Francisco resident, was located, arrested, and booked into the Youth Services Center for attempted robbery, battery with serious bodily injury, and an additional offense.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
