Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted male juvenile on gun charges.
On February 24, at approximately 10:45 a.m., members of the Gun Intelligence Unit were in the 100 block of Town Estates Drive, conducting a firearm investigation. At this time, police made contact with a wanted 16-year-old male juvenile, who was taken into custody without incident. Following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun that had previously been reported stolen.
The 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center pending further proceedings.
