INCIDENT: Possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, receiving known stolen property, utility theft
LOCATION: 68800 block of Rainier Road, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277
SUSPECT(S): Eduardo Valseca, 50-year-old male resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): State of California / Southern California Edison
SUMMARY: On Thursday, February 27, 2025, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the Morongo Basin Station Detective Bureau served a search warrant in the 68800 block of Rainier Road in Twentynine Palms. During the service of the warrant, detectives located a loaded rifle, ammunition, suspected methamphetamine, a stolen 40' Conex box worth approximately $7,000, and an electrical meter bypass. Southern California Edison assisted with the utility theft investigation and discovered suspect Eduardo Valseca stole approximately $50,000 of electricity.
Valseca was released on bail on January 31, 2025, after he was placed into custody for receiving known stolen property, which also involved a stolen Conex box. Valseca was placed into custody for HS11370.1-Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed with a Loaded Firearm, and PC 496(a)-Receiving Known Stolen Property and transported to Morongo Basin Jail. Valseca is currently being held at West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $290,000 bail.
