At approximately 1:30 AM on Friday, February 28, the Culver City Police Department responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call. Arriving on the scene quickly, the Officers learned that the assault had occurred on the 6000 block of Slauson Avenue, where an adult male suspect stabbed the female adult victim in the left bicep, causing non-life-threatening injuries, and was last seen fleeing the area on foot eastbound on Slauson Avenue. The suspect and victim were believed to be involved in a relationship. Officers ensured the victim was transported for medical treatment at a nearby hospital while simultaneously launching a search for the suspect.
Culver City Police quickly identified the suspect and worked to locate him. Investigators located the suspect hours later in the Downtown Los Angeles area. The suspect, a 57-year-old male adult from Los Angeles, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of narcotics. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
