Officers responded to a report of a theft at a construction site where approximately 350 feet of wiring had been stolen over the weekend. The stolen material was valued at several hundred dollars. The investigation is ongoing.

Arrested: Miya G. Grissett (Philadelphia, PA)
Grissett was found in a damaged vehicle on the shoulder of U.S. Route 1. She exhibited signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. She was placed under arrest for DWI and also issued a summons for reckless driving. Further investigation determined she had crashed into a light pole. She was processed and released to a sober adult.

Arrested: Gustavo Ponce (Trenton, NJ)
Ponce stole merchandise from Target and attempted to flee, hiding behind Best Buy. Officers pursued and apprehended him after he resisted arrest. A search found stolen goods and a glass pipe in his belongings. He was charged with shoplifting, resisting arrest, obstruction, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Arrested: Carlos Laborde Caliz (Trenton, NJ)
Laborde Caliz fraudulently returned stolen items for cash. Store security identified him from previous incidents. He was arrested and charged with theft by deception. Additionally, he had an active warrant from Ewing and was processed accordingly.

Arrested: Jacob Carom (Hamilton, NJ) & Monica Paterno (Flemington, NJ)
Carom and Paterno shoplifted merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods and attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle. Paterno provided a false identity to officers. A search of the vehicle uncovered stolen merchandise and CDS paraphernalia. Both were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including shoplifting, possession of CDS, and receiving stolen property.
