The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Dust Advisory for... Southeastern Lincoln County in central New Mexico... Curry County in east central New Mexico... De Baca County in east central New Mexico... Quay County in east central New Mexico... Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico... Southern Harding County in northeastern New Mexico... Northwestern Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...

* Until 600 PM MST.

* At 400 PM MST, a large area of blowing dust stretched from near Hondo and Elk northeastward toward Tucumcari, Clovis and Portales. HAZARD...Less than three miles visibility with strong winds in excess of 50 mph. Localized areas will have visibility below one mile with wind gusts in excess of 60 mph. SOURCE...Satellite and local observations. IMPACT...Hazardous travel.

* Locations impacted include... Clovis, Portales, Tucumcari, Fort Sumner, Nara Visa, Quay, Logan, Melrose, San Jon and Elida. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 331 and 372. Highway 380 between Mile Markers 98 and 107. Highway 285 between Mile Markers 136 and 163. Highway 60 between Mile Markers 317 and 396. State Road 104 near Mile Marker 105.
