Elevated Fire Danger and Wind Advisory for Clay County. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

This is a message from Clay County Emergency Services.  The National Weather Service in Morristown, Tennessee has published a forecast for elevated fire danger for the Clay County area today, Tuesday, March 4, 2025. With a very dry air mass continuing to be in place, relative humidity levels will be very low, and gusty winds are expected to move into the Clay County area by early afternoon, A wind advisory has been issued for Clay County effective today at 1 pm until Wednesday at 4 pm.  Wind speeds are predicted to be between 15 and 25 miles per hour this afternoon with wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour, especially in higher elevations. These conditions are causing a high elevated fire danger for the Clay County area. Any outdoor burning is not recommended today.  Further information on the current elevated fire danger and weather conditions will be sent out as the information becomes available.
