One (1) Arrested and 35 Citations Issued at the Redwood City DUI Checkpoint

Redwood City, California – On 2/28/2025 there was one (1) person arrested for DUI, and one (1) person cited for an outstanding Warrant at the DUI checkpoints on 2/28/2025, and 3/1/2025.
 
The DUI checkpoints were held at Woodside Rd at Hess Rd from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and El Camino Real at Hopkins Ave from 11:00 p.m. to 01:30 a.m.
 
32 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, two (2) drivers were cited for Open Marijuana Containers, and approximately 1000 vehicles were contacted.
 
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.  The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
 
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
