...HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS LATE TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY... .Rain will change to snow late tonight into early Wednesday morning and become heavy at times. Widespread accumulating snow is expected with totals ranging from 2 to 8 inches with the higher amounts in southeast Minnesota. Overnight, the winds will increase and combine with snow rates of 1 to 2 inch per hour to create blizzard conditions for southeast Minnesota and portions of northeast Iowa. With the timing of blowing snow and the heaviest snow rates, the morning commute will be impacted across the region.
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations around 3 to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
