CASE NO. C25-003734 |
On 3/4/2025, at 8:43 a.m., the Sheboygan County Dispatch Center received a call of a suspicious item in the 1300 block of New York Ave. Officers arrived and were able to evacuate residents living in the area. Out of an abundance of caution, N. 14th St/State Highway 28, was closed between Pennsylvania Ave and Wisconsin Ave.
The Milwaukee County Explosives and Ordinance Disposal Unit responded and was able to safely address the device. We found that it did not contain explosives and did not pose a danger to the public.
During the investigation, officers were able to locate a suspect in this incident. The suspect, a 42-year-old Sheboygan man, was arrested and will be referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office for various offenses.
We’d like to thank the following departments and agencies for their help in this matter: Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Milwaukee County Explosives and Ordinance Disposal Unit, Sheboygan Fire Department, Sheboygan Department of Public Works, and Shoreline Metro. We also want to thank the public for their patience in this matter.
