Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile on gun charges.

On March 1, at approximately 1:02 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 700 block of West 4^th Street, and made contact with the driver – a 17-year-old male juvenile. Following a brief investigation, the 17-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody without incident, and was found to be in possession of a loaded .40 caliber handgun.

The 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:

• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
• Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
