Incident Summary

On Sunday, 3/2/2025 at approximately 2:54 PM, Petaluma Police Dispatchers received a call from a concerned community member regarding an alleged intoxicated driver that was seen swerving on the road with moderate front-end vehicle damage. Officers contacted the suspect, Karen McFallMurray (65, Larkspur) and initiated field sobriety tests. McFallMurray later submitted to an evidentiary breath test revealing she had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .28%-- more than three times the legal limit.

Another officer reported seeing a bent street sign at Prospect Street with plastic remnants on the ground that appeared to match McFallMurray’s vehicle. McFallMurray later confirmed that the pieces belonged to her vehicle.

McFallMurray was transported to Sonoma County jail and booked for:
- 23152(a) DUI
- 23152(b) DUI with BAC greater than 0.08%
- 14601.2(a) Driving with a suspended license.
