Borough Council Meeting, Tuesday 3/18 at 7 pm
The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Highland Park hold their regularly scheduled meetings pursuant to the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b). Meetings are held in person at Borough Hall, 221 South 5th Avenue, Highland Park, NJ at 7:00 pm. As a convenience, the Borough provides the public the option to attend meetings remotely through Zoom. The meeting agenda and support materials are posted in Borough Hall and on the Borough website at least 48 hours before the scheduled meeting.
Caring for Your Trees Webinar, Monday 3/24 from 7:30-8:30 pm
Highland Park’s Shade Tree Advisory Committee is hosting another “Caring for Our Trees” webinar on Monday, March 24, from 7:30-8:30 PM. During this session the Shade Tree Advisory Committee will answer your questions and offer tips for how you can help Highland Park’s young trees grow and thrive.
Free Tax Prep Assistance, Appointments Wednesdays through 3/26
If your income is $70,000 or less, you can get your taxes prepared for free by a United Way IRS-certified volunteer at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue. Appointments are available every Wednesday through March 26, 2025. To set up an appointment, please call 732-819-0052. If you want to drop off your documents, no appointment is required; documents can be dropped off in a secured box outside of the HP Community Center.
Pre-Diabetes and Wound Care Lecture, Wednesday, 3/26 from 1:30-2:30 pm
Join Hackensack Meridian Health Educators and their Wound Care Team and learn about the complications of diabetes and about pre-diabetes is, at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue from 1:30 to 2:30 pm.
Windows of Understanding Closing Reception, Wednesday, 3/26 at 5:30 pm
The Windows of Understanding is a Highland Park Arts Commission project. As the 2025 Windows of Understanding draws to a close, they will be hosting a free reception with refreshments at the Highland Park Public Library, 31 North 5th Avenue at 5:30 pm. Park Partners Grant Program, Applications Due Tuesday 5/13
If you’d like to make a difference in our town, submit your Park Partners grant application! The program awards funds of up to $2,000 each for five community-based projects in the following categories: Environment; Arts; Culture & Diversity; Safety, Universal Access, or Health & Wellness; and Highland Park High School student(s)/class/club projects. They are accepting applications now through May 13th at 1 pm.
Free Groceries from H.P. Gives a Hoot, Tuesdays 3/11, 3/18, 3/25, and Wednesdays, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support. Distributions are every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Zone 6 Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
Food Pantry Distribution, Thursdays 3/13 & 3/27 & Saturdays 3/15 & 3/29

Highland Park Recreation Programs
Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult, youth and winter programs. Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the Borough.

Highland Park will hold fireworks to celebrate Independence Day on Thursday, July 3rd this year we hope to see you in Donaldson Park. (Raindate: Sunday 7/6)
