AVABOU THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE COLORADO AVALANCHE INFORMATION CENTER. AVALANCHE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THURSDAY UNTIL 5 PM FRIDAY
*WHAT Dangerous avalanche conditions develop on Thursday night and last through Friday. Expect the Avalanche Danger to rise to HIGH (Level 4 of 5).
*WHERE Elkhead Mountains, Flat Tops, Grand Mesa, West Elk and Elk Mountains, and the northwest San Juan Mountains.
*WHEN Expect very dangerous avalanche conditions to begin on Thursday afternoon by about 5:00 PM and last through Friday at 5:00 PM.
*IMPACTS High snowfall rates and strong winds will create dangerous avalanche conditions by Thursday evening. Large and dangerous avalanches will be easy to trigger once the new snow accumulates. Avalanches will run naturally. Pritchett
