Wind Advisory Until 7:00 PM Thursday
* WHAT...Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* WHERE...McDowell Mountains, Polk Mountains, and Rutherford Mountains Counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Burn Ban Remains in Effect for McDowell County
Due to hazardous weather conditions that are forecasted including gusty winds, the burn ban for all opening burning within 100 feet of a strucutre continues. The burn ban has been issued in an effort to protect life and property.
The ban applies to all open burning within 100 feet of a structure including:
- Yard waste
- Debris
- Land-clearing burns
This ban does not affect N.C. Forest Service permitted, controlled, and attended fires more than 100 feet from a structure as the NCFS regulates this activity.
