Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. requests the public’s help identifying the below-pictured suspect who took a victim’s cell phone on March 5, 2025.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., the victim placed an order at the Dunkin Donuts in the 700 block of Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Blvd. She put her cell phone down and forgot to pick it up when she stepped away from the counter. The suspect, captured on surveillance video, was in line behind the victim when he put the phone in his pocket and left.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
