Special Weather Statement until 07:00PM
Winds will become gusty from the west later this morning, and continue through the afternoon, with frequent gusts of 20 to 30 mph expected. Additionally, relative humidity is expected to decrease to the 25 to 30 percent range across the North Carolina foothills and western Piedmont by late afternoon. These factors will combine with dry vegetation to increase the potential for the start and spread of wildfires across the area. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.
