...ACCUMULATING SNOW SHOWERS FOR THE SOUTHERN PANHANDLE... .A quick moving front will move across the panhandle Monday morning bringing snow to the southern panhandle. Due to a convective environment, snow showers will create times of heavier snow rates.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Prince of Wales Island, Ketchikan Gateway Borough and Annette Island.
* WHEN...From 1 AM to 1 PM AKDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snow rates will be around 8 am to 10 am with up to 0.75 inches per hour. Training snow showers may lead to higher amounts than expected.
* AFFECTED AREAS: PRINCE OF WALES ISLAND ... KETCHIKAN GATEWAY BOROUGH ... ANNETTE ISLAND
