VICTIM(S): BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Temple
SUMMARY: On Saturday, March 8, 2025, deputies responded to a report of vandalism at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Temple in Chino Hills. Upon arrival, deputies learned unknown suspect(s) spray-painted graffiti containing political messages on the temple’s marble sign, a nearby brick wall, and a city sidewalk. The estimated cost of repairs was $15,000.
Chino Hills detectives assumed the investigation and learned the vandalism occurred on Friday, March 7, 2025, at around 11:16 p.m. Detectives believe two suspects are responsible for the crime and continue to investigate leads. Detectives are investigating the incident as a hate crime. San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department investigators have notified federal law enforcement agencies and are collaborating to identify those responsible for the crime.
