Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with multiple burglary incidents following an investigation.
On December 29, 2024, members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 300 block of Cedar Street, in reference to a burglary incident. On February 10, 2025, members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 200 block of Stroud Street, in reference to a burglary incident. On February 20, 2025, members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 300 block of Cedar Street, in reference to a burglary incident. These cases were assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective Merced identified 30-year-old Jaleel Carter as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest. On March 4, Carter was taken into custody without incident.
Carter has been charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary (Second Degree)
- Attempted Burglary (Second Degree)
- Receiving Stolen Property Under $1,500
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $6,000 cash-only bail.
