Wilmington Police request public assistance identifying suspects connected with attempted vehicle theft:
Wilmington Police are requesting the assistance of the public identifying two suspects in connection with an attempted vehicle theft.
On March 9, police responded to the 700 block of South Rodney Street in reference to an attempted vehicle theft incident that occurred at approximately 7:25 p.m. During the incident, two suspects gained entry into the vehicle and attempted to exploit a known security vulnerability to get the vehicle started – causing damage to the interior of the vehicle in the process. They were unsuccessful in their attempt and left the area.

This incident is similar in nature to a number of vehicle theft, attempted theft and criminal mischief incidents reported in recent weeks in Wilmington. Police encourage the public to immediately report any suspicious activity – including subjects pulling car door handles or looking inside of vehicles – and to ensure they always lock their cars when they are left unattended.
