Shots Fired at Horseback Riders in Unincorporated Apple Valley; Suspect Arrested, Victims and Horses not Injured

INCIDENT: PC 245(A)(2): ASSUALT WITH A FIREARM ON A PERSON
LOCATION: 24400 Block of Shoshone Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Geronimo Hernandez, 44 years of age, resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 11:02 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call in the 24400 block of Shoshone Road in Apple Valley.
The victims were riding their horses past Geronimo Hernandez’s residence, when he started his motorcycle and revved his engine in what the victims believed was to scare their horses. A negative exchange occurred between the suspect and victims. The suspect went inside his residence and came outside with a firearm and pointed it at the victims. The victims rode away quickly, when they heard gunshots behind them.
The rifle and fired cartridge casings were located. Geronimo Hernandez was arrested for assault with a firearm on a person and booked at the High Desert Detention Center. He was later released on bail.
