Wilmington Police arrest male juvenile in connection to shots fired incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile in connection to a shots fired incident following an investigation.
On February 14, at approximately 4:57 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 700 block of East 22nd Street, in reference to a shots fired incident with no injuries. The case was assigned to the Gun Intelligence Unit. Through the course of their investigation, police identified a 14-year-old male juvenile as a suspect.
On February 25, at approximately 3:17 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force took the 14-year-old male juvenile into custody without incident, and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun that had previously been reported stolen. The 14-year-old male juvenile was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center.
On March 7, the 14-year-old male was charged with the following offenses related to the shots fired incident:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
