Grosse Pointe Farms Dept. of Public Safety has been contacted numerous times in the last few weeks regarding the following type of incident.
Residents will receive a call from someone who claims to be a sheriff's deputy, police officer, or court officer. This individual will state that the resident missed jury duty and that there is a warrant for their arrest. The caller will request an electronic payment to make the matter disappear. THIS IS A SCAM. Hang up the phone immediately and contact Grosse Pointe Farms Dept. of Public Safety. (313)-885-2100.

- Courts will never call you to demand money or threaten arrest for missing jury duty.
- Courts will always send a jury summons by U.S. Mail.
- A fine will never be imposed until after an individual has appeared in court and been allowed to explain their failure to appear.
