Fire Watch/Electrical Outage Notification 
With the forecast severe winds, especially on Friday, XCEL Energy is currently planning to implement Public Safety Power Shutoff. The current map shows expected outage locations, as of today, however this is fluid and may expand. In addition to the planned outages, strong winds may cause additional power outages which will not be resolved until XCEL staff are able to safely visually inspect the power lines. In the area of Fritch water system, and power outages will require citizen water preservation efforts. Water consumption during the outage may compromise water availability for fire fighters.
Those with electrical medical essential appliances should have plans in place to seek viable power sources. Currently, Celebration Church in Fritch will have some minimal generators to assist with power needs, as will the Johnson Youth Center in Borger. In the event these facilities are opened to provide refuge or sheltering, an addition community announcement will be made.
Tips to prepare for power outages include:
· Battery-powered radio
· Flashlights
· Batteries
· Backup phone chargers
· A phone that does not require electricity
· Non-electric alarm clock
· Bottled water and non-perishable food
· Manual can opener
· First aid kit
· Extension cords of appropriate load rating (for partial outages)
· Manufacturer’s instructions on how to manually open power-operated doors (e.g. garage doors)
