High Wind Warning until 12:00PM Saturday

* WHAT...For the first Wind Advisory, south winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. For the High Wind Warning, south winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. For the second Wind Advisory, southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...Livingston, Boone, De Kalb, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, Winnebago, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, and McHenry Counties.

* WHEN...For the first Wind Advisory, until 7 AM CDT Saturday. For the High Wind Warning, from 7 AM to noon CDT Saturday. For the second Wind Advisory, from noon to 5 PM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds today are expected after sunset, when brief gusts up to 60 mph are probable. This will be closely followed by a fast moving line of thunderstorms with strong to damaging winds.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WINNEBAGO ... BOONE ... MCHENRY ... OGLE ... LEE ... DE KALB ... KANE ... LA SALLE ... KENDALL ... GRUNDY ... LIVINGSTON

Instructions:

Remain indoors during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
