Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety
Press Release
For Immediate Release: March 14, 2025
Issued by: Acting Watch Commander Dan Hargreaves
On March 14th 2025, at approximately 1:00 PM, The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call of a tree that had fallen through the roof of a residence in the 500 block of Myrtle Avenue in Rohnert Park. The caller said a person was still trapped inside the residence; however, they did not appear to be injured.
Police and Fire personnel arrived on scene and were able to safely extricate the trapped person from the residence. It appears a large portion of a eucalyptus tree broke off during a large gust of wind and fell into the residence, causing significant structural damage to the roof.
The residence was deemed inhabitable by the Rohnert Park building inspector. The American Red Cross was contacted on behalf of the resident to assist with resources.
Several local residents in the area reported strong winds before the tree fell.
We are glad this resident escaped injury considering the size of the tree.
