* At 908 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from over Captolo to near Bay, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include... Springfield, Guyton, Brooklet, Newington, Oliver, Furman, Scotia, Shawnee, Kildare and Clyo. This includes I-16 between mile markers 127 and 137.
* AFFECTED AREAS: BULLOCH, GA ... EFFINGHAM, GA ... SCREVEN, GA ... HAMPTON, SC ... JASPER, SC
Instructions:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds. Increased rotation has been detected and a Tornado Warning may be needed. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado, take shelter in a closet, bathroom or small, central room in a sturdy structure. Report severe weather to your nearest law enforcement agency or the National Weather Service office in Charleston SC. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 PM EDT Sunday for portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina.
