St. Patrick’s Day Safety Tips

As St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Monday this year, celebrations will extend throughout the weekend. Enjoy responsibly and never drive under the influence—your safety and the safety of others depend on it.

Plan Ahead:

• Arrange for a sober driver, public transportation, or a ride-share service before drinking.
• Buzzed driving is still drunk driving—always opt for a safe ride home.
• Report impaired drivers by calling 911.
• If someone is about to drive under the influence, take their keys and help them get home safely.

For Pedestrians:

• Avoid walking home intoxicated—consider a cab or a sober escort.
• Stay alert, avoid distractions, and wear bright or reflective clothing at night.
• Use sidewalks and crosswalks; never cross mid-block or between parked cars.
• Walking while intoxicated can be dangerous. Stay alert and avoid risky behavior near traffic.
