HIDDEN HISTORIES: Spring Street in Leonia - Redlining in Bergen County

On Thursday evening, March 27, The Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Race and Equity (MACORE), invites you to join us for a very engaging and enriching evening as we explore the story of Spring Street, a historically rich and proud neighborhood in Leonia, presented by David Braun, Leonia’s Borough Historian & Chair of the Leonia Historical Preservation Commission. 

In addition, MACORE is honored to have with us Lynne Algrant, Chief Resource and Development Officer of Greater Bergen Community Action and local expert on redlining, who will present the history of redlining and its impact within Bergen County, our neighboring towns and Leonia itself. 

These enlightening presentations will take place at the Leonia Municipal Center in the courtroom on the second floor.  Doors will open at 6:30PM for a welcome reception in the lobby and the presentation itself will start promptly at 7:00PM, closing at 8:30PM.  Mark your calendars and plan to join your neighbors and our expert speakers as we explore our community story together.
