Traffic Stop Leads to the Arrest of Three Crestline Residents on Drug Charges

DATE/TIME: March 9, 2025 / 10:02 A.M.

INCIDENT: H&S 11378 – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales
                   H&S 11379 – Transportation of a Controlled Substance
                   H&S 11377 – Possession of a Controlled Substance 

LOCATION: Balsam Ln and Sycamore Ln, Valley of Enchantment

SUSPECT(S): Cassandra Oberdick, a 40-year-old resident of Crestline
                        Cinthia Johnson, a 33-year-old resident of Crestline
                        Joel Rose, a 33-year-old resident of Crestline

VICTIM(S): The State of California


SUMMARY: On Sunday, March 9, 2025, at approximately 10:02 a.m., Deputy Cowles conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Wrangler with expired registration. The vehicle was occupied by the driver, Cassandra Oberdick, and several passengers, including Joel Rose and Cinthia Johnson. Deputy Cowles conducted a records check on all occupants and found Johnson had an active warrant for her arrest.

During a search of Oberdick's vehicle, Deputy Cowles located a glass bowl commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, as well as clear plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine. During a search of Oberdick's person, Deputy Cowles located approximately 46 grams of suspected methamphetamine concealed in Oberdick's jacket pocket.

Based on the totality of the investigation, Cowles arrested Oberdick for H&S 11378 and H&S 11379, Johnson for her warrant and H&S 11377, and Rose for H&S 11377. All subjects were transported to the Central Detention Center, where they were booked for their charges.
