The Santa Clara Police Department arrested a suspect for various sex crimes committed against a juvenile. Detectives are looking for possible additional victims in this child molestation case.

On Monday, March 10, 2025, at 4:48 p.m., Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) officers met with the juvenile victim and the victim’s mother. Officers conducted an investigation and determined the victim had met an adult suspect later identified as 41-year-old Gilberto David Nietoromo of Livermore, on a social media site.  Nietoromo met the victim on two separate occasions in the parking lot of Buchser Middle School in Santa Clara. On each occasion, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim in a vehicle.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant and Nietoromo was arrested without incident by SCPD officers on March 13, 2025, at 2:59 p.m. near Industrial Way and S. Vasco Road in Livermore, CA. Nietoromo was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for seven felonies including sexual assault, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old, false imprisonment and arrange and go to meeting with a minor. He was also booked with four misdemeanors including harmful matter sent with intent to seduce a minor, arrange a meeting with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

This remains an open and active investigation.  Based on the investigation, it was determined there was at least one additional victim in San Jose.
