It is with profound sadness that the Fremont Fire Department announces the off-duty death of Firefighter Anthony Ganzler on March 17, 2025.
Yesterday, March 17, 2025, at 10:45 AM, Fire Chief Zoraida Diaz was notified by the Fire Chief of the Elk Grove Fire Department that Fremont Firefighter Anthony Ganzler suffered a cardiac event and passed away in Elk Grove, CA.
We extend our deepest condolences to Anthony’s family, friends and loved ones throughout our own ranks and beyond.
Anthony joined the Fremont Fire Department in 2019 and was a member of the Fremont Fire Lateral Academy Class 2019-1.
The Fremont Fire Department will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
