Winter Storm Warning until 01:00AM Thursday

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph and producing areas of blowing and drifting snow.

* WHERE...Portage, Wood, Menominee, Northern Oconto County, Shawano, and Southern Marinette County Counties.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 1 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of an inch or more per hour are expected during the mid-afternoon through early evening period, and could be accompanied by thunder.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MENOMINEE ... NORTHERN OCONTO COUNTY ... SHAWANO ... WOOD ... PORTAGE ... SOUTHERN MARINETTE COUNTY
