On 03/17/2025, Jaime Ibarra was arrested after brandishing a firearm at a food delivery driver in Saticoy. At approximately 9:40 PM on 03/17/2025, patrol units from the Headquarters Patrol Station responded to a 9-1-1 call in the area of Aster Street and Los Angeles Avenue in the unincorporated area of Ventura County known as Saticoy. When patrol units arrived, the victim, a food delivery driver, told deputies a suspect, later identified as Jaime Ibarra, had just brandished a firearm at him. Deputies saw Ibarra fleeing the area and immediately set up a containment perimeter. Deputies from the Camarillo Patrol Station, members of the Unmanned Arial Systems Unit (UAS), and K-9 Unit arrived to assist in Ibarra’s apprehension. Ibarra was located and apprehended through the combined effort of all the responding units. Ibarra was arrested for Exhibiting a Firearm in Public and booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility. Detectives and deputies from the Headquarters Patrol Station later located a 9mm handgun Ibarra discarded during the incident. Detectives continued the investigation by conducting a probation search of Ibarra’s residence and located a replica firearm altered to look like a real firearm. Ibarra was supplementally booked for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of a Firearm in Violation of Probation Terms, Carry a Concealed Firearm on a Person, and Removal of Required Markings from an Imitation Firearm. Additional investigation revealed Ibarra violated a domestic violence restraining order during the incident. Ibarra was charged with Violating a Domestic Violence Restraining Order. Ibarra remains in the custody of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office pending his court hearings. Ibarra’s bail was set at $60,000. |
