Special Weather Statement until 03:00AM Thursday 
A band of snow will shift into the area after midnight from the southwest. Snow may fall at rates up to or slightly over 1 inch per hour for a brief period of time. The heavy snow rates combined with wind gusts to 45 mph or locally higher will lead to some slushy to locally snow covered roadways and visibilities reduced to one half to one quarter mile. The worst conditions will reach La Salle county after midnight, and into the city of Chicago by 3 to 4 AM. Some blowing or drifting of snow may linger into the morning commute if snow accumulations are higher.
