Winter Weather Advisory until 07:00AM Thursday

* WHAT...Accumulating heavy wet wind-whipped snow expected. Total snow accumulations 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The snow is expected to fall at up to an inch per hour for a period overnight. While road temperatures remain above freezing, the heavy snow rates will allow for slushy accumulations on paved surfaces, with bridges and overpasses expected to be the most vulnerable to slushy accumulations. The combination of the heavy snow and strong wind gusts will also result in poor visibilities and hazardous travel conditions overnight. Conditions will improve around daybreak this morning.
