When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There was one robbery during the past week.
On Sunday, 03-16-25, at approximately 4:37 p.m., at the intersection of Serramonte Boulevard and Callan Boulevard, a victim was walking when he was approached by two suspects. One suspect grabbed the victim’s shoulder, held a pocket knife to the victim’s side, and demanded all of his belongings. The other suspect reached into the victim’s pocket, took $200, and also stole the victim’s shoes. Meanwhile, a light blue Toyota Prius occupied by two suspects pulled alongside the victim. A third suspect momentarily exited the vehicle and stood in front of the victim. All three suspects then entered the vehicle and fled. The suspect who grabbed the victim’s shoulder and held the pocket knife was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 19 to 20 years old, 5’11” to 6’1” tall, wearing a black mask, black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes. The second and third suspects were described as Black males, approximately 19 to 20 years old, 5’11” to 6’1” tall, with black dreadlocks, wearing black masks, blue hoodies, and black pants.
Residential Burglaries
There were no residential burglaries during the past week.
Commercial Burglaries
There was one attempted commercial burglary during the past week.
On Tuesday, 03-11-25, at approximately 10:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to the A1 Smoke Shop on the 6100 block of Mission Street on a report of a commercial burglary. The reporting party from a neighboring business stated that he heard loud banging outside. The reporting party checked his surveillance camera and saw two suspects throwing a large object at the window of the A1 Smoke Shop. An officer viewed the surveillance footage and saw a suspect throw an object at the window. After the object fell to the ground, the suspect picked it up and continued walking on Mission Street. The window was not broken. A short while later, another officer located the two suspects, and one of them had a large rock in his sweatshirt pocket. This case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for a complaint against both suspects, a 20-year-old and a 13-year-old, both Oakley residents, for attempted commercial burglary.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
