...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FAR EASTERN KS INTO NORTHEAST MO...

The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity,
which is in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* TIMING...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* WIND...Intermittent gusts up to 50 MPH for the next couple hours followed by gusts 30-40 MPH. Winds gradually shift from SW to NW this afternoon

* HUMIDITY...RH values have descended or are forecast
 to descend below 25 percent in the warned area.

NO OPEN BURNING. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
