On March 24, 2023, the Santa Clara County Superior Court deemed Christopher Hubbart suitable for conditional release. Mr. Hubbart, classified as a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP), has a lengthy history of committing violent sex offenses against women and has been prosecuted in both Los Angeles and Santa Clara counties. Following a recent court order, Mr. Hubbart was placed at his court-ordered designated housing facility in Pearblossom on March 21, 2025.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department opposed this placement during the hearing, highlighting Mr. Hubbart’s criminal history, the seclusion of the rural area, limited cellphone and radio reception, and the absence of sufficient nighttime lighting and surveillance cameras. However, the Palmdale Station is fully committed to ensuring the safety of residents in the surrounding rural communities of Juniper Hills, Pearblossom, and Littlerock. In response, Palmdale Station will increase its law enforcement presence in the area and collaborate with Liberty Healthcare, which will provide 24/7 onsite security. Additionally, Palmdale Station will continue to engage with the community through local town councils to enhance information sharing and address any safety concerns.
