INCIDENT: PC 242 - Battery

SUMMARY: On Friday, March 21, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station, in conjunction with officers from the California Highway Patrol, responded to Yucca Valley High School regarding a fight involving several students. School staff immediately intervened and broke up the altercation prior to law enforcement's arrival. While staff escorted the involved students to the school office, a crowd of students followed and a subsequent altercation started, causing school staff to intervene once again.
Once deputies arrived, they initiated their investigation while San Bernardino County Fire Department provided medical attention to those students in need. During their investigation, deputies identified a male juvenile who assaulted a female juvenile, which initiated the confrontation.
At this time, deputies have identified the juveniles involved in both altercations and the investigation is ongoing.
