Beginning Monday, March 24th, 2025 at approximately 8:00am the City’s contractor, Eastman Associates, will begin construction of a new performance stage in Muller Plaza, to be dedicated to famous Oneonta jazz musician Al Gallodoro. In addition, deteriorating electrical infrastructure in the plaza will replaced.
Work will mostly be contained to the east side of the Plaza. Work will start with removal of existing pavers and underground electric conduit and wires, and be followed by demolition of various concrete walls and slabs. After that new electric, foundation, steps and stage slab will be built followed by installation of a new open air structural aluminum performance stage with lights. The project is expected to be completed by mid-June.
Pedestrian access will be maintained along Main St sidewalks as well as to adjacent businesses, The Marx hotel entrance, and down to Water St. Please use caution and obey all work zone signage and safety devices.
