South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka announced Tuesday that the South Brunswick Police Department has successfully achieved re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), a significant milestone in the department's ongoing commitment to excellence in law enforcement services.
CALEA is recognized as the leading national authority for law enforcement accreditation, providing agencies with a framework for professional standards and best practices. The accreditation process is rigorous, involving comprehensive evaluation and assessment to ensure that agencies adhere to the highest standards of operational effectiveness, transparency, and community service.
“This achievement underscores our department’s dedication to providing the highest level of service to our community,” said Chief Hayducka. “The CALEA accreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our officers and staff, as well as our commitment to serving our community.”
To earn CALEA accreditation, the South Brunswick Police Department underwent an extensive review of policies, procedures, and practices, with assessors examining areas such as use of force policies, community engagement, training, and internal operations. The accreditation is awarded only to agencies that meet or exceed the established standards in these key areas.
About CALEA: The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the quality of law enforcement and public safety agencies through the development and adoption of professional standards. The CALEA Accreditation process promotes the delivery of high-quality services and fosters trust between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
In addition to the CALEA national accreditation, the South Brunswick Police is also accredited statewide by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police. One of the first departments in the State to receive both award recognitions.
