RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY.
The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening.
* TIMING...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening.
* WINDS...Northwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* HUMIDITY...As low as 15%.
* FUEL MOISTURE...10-hour fuel moisture expected to fall below 10%
this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not permitted due to a statewide burn ban.
Anyone violating the burn ban faces a $100 fine plus $183 court costs. Any person responsible for setting a fire may be liable for any expenses related to extinguishing the fire.

are either occurring now, .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
