REMINDER: Bike parking changes around Hoboken Terminal

Please be advised, due to the upcoming removal of bike parking along NJ Transit property for construction related to the Hoboken Connect project, the City of Hoboken added 28 new bicycle parking spaces on Hudson Street between Hudson Place and Newark Street.

Racks on Hudson Place between Hudson Street and River Street will be removed tomorrow, March 27. The removal of these racks is required to facilitate the construction of a temporary bus terminal that will be used while construction begins on the new permanent NJ Transit bus terminal.

The construction is part of the Hoboken Connect project, which will revitalize southeastern sections of Hoboken, including the Hoboken Terminal and the surrounding area.

The LCOR project, includes:

  • A new NJ Transit bus terminal featuring an indoor market
  • The rehabilitation of the historic Ferry Terminal and Warrington Plaza
  • Enhancements to Hudson Place, transforming portions of the roadway into a pedestrian and retail plaza
  • Development of a new affordable housing and residential and office space

To mitigate the impact on cyclists during construction, the City is relocating bike racks in advance of any planned removals and continues to explore additional areas around Hoboken Terminal that are outside of construction zones.

Bicycle commuters to the Hoboken Terminal area are encouraged to take advantage of nearby bicycle parking on Sinatra Drive as well as on Hudson Place between River Street and Warrington Plaza.

Additionally, Citi Bike members are reminded of the Citi Bike valet on River Street and Hudson Place.

For more information on valet service, go to https://www.hobokennj.gov/news/hoboken-terminal-citi-bike-valet-service-returns-may-6.
