Loma Linda Man Arrested for Purchasing Vehicles with Stolen Checks



DATE/TIME: March 26, 2025 / 12:33 p.m.

INCIDENT: VC 10851(a) Stolen Vehicle, PC 496d(a) Possession of Stolen Vehicle, and PC 532 (a) Theft by False Pretenses 

LOCATION: 11800 block of Arliss Way, Grand Terrace

SUSPECT(S): Jorge Luis Navas-Rodriguez, 37-year-old resident of Loma Linda

VICTIM(S): Confidential.  


SUMMARY: 
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025,  Victim 1 met with Jorge Luis Navas-Rodriguez in the city of Grand Terrace and sold him his vehicle. Navas-Rodriguez purchased the vehicle with a stolen check. Victim 1 was unaware the check was stolen and found out the next day when he attempted to cash it.  

On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Victim 2, purchased Victim 1's stolen vehicle from Navas-Rodriguez while unaware it was originally purchased with a stolen check.

On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Victim 3 met with Navas-Rodriguez and sold him his vehicle. Navas-Rodriguez purchased the vehicle with a another stolen check. Victim 3 was unaware the check was stolen and electronically deposited the check.  Deputy Roger Alfaro authored an arrest warrant for Navas-Rodriguez. 

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, deputies and detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department - Central Station served a search warrant at Navas-Rodriguez' residence and located articles of evidence used in the commision of the crimes. 

Jorge Luis Navas-Rodriguez was arrested for VC 10851(a) Stolen Vehicle, PC 496d(a) Possession of Stolen Vehicle, and PC 532 (a) Theft by False Pretenses. Additionally, Navas-Rodriguez was arrested for his active arrest warrant for PC 10851(a)- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, a felony. Navas-Rodriguez was booked into the Central Detention Center where he is being held on $150,000.00 bail.
