Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a sexual assault that occurred on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
At approximately 9:18 a.m., a woman was walking on Elizabeth Avenue near Vanderpool Street when an unknown male touched her buttocks before fleeing eastbound on Vanderpool Street.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as being between 20 and 25 years old, approximately 5’3” to 5’6” tall, 120 to 145 pounds, with black hair.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information regarding the identity of these suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
