Robberies
There was one robbery during the past week.
On Friday, 03-21-25, at approximately 4:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to Target at the Westlake Shopping Center on a report of two suspects who had stolen from the store. The loss prevention employee stated that the suspects selected approximately $417 worth of adapters from the electronics department, concealed them in a backpack, and headed toward the exit. Outside the store, the loss prevention employee identified himself to the suspects. One of the suspects shoved and verbally threatened the loss prevention employee before both suspects ran to a gray Mercedes-Benz and fled toward San Francisco. SFPD was notified and they conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. DCPD officers and the loss prevention employee responded to their location. After the loss prevention employee positively identified both suspects, they were arrested. The backpack containing the stolen merchandise was found in the backseat of the vehicle. The suspect who shoved the loss prevention employee, a 20-year-old South San Francisco resident, was booked into jail for robbery, conspiracy, and an outstanding warrant. On Wednesday, 03-19-25, at approximately 3:48 p.m., officers were dispatched to Victoria’s Secret at the Serramonte Center on a report of a shoplifting in progress. An asset protection investigator stated that a suspect walked into the store and started conversation with an associate, causing them to walk away from the area. Shortly after, another suspect walked in, goes to the same area, kneeled, and then walked out without taking any merchandise. The first suspect remained in the store, continued browsing, and kept an associate distracted. Later, the second suspect returned to the same area of the store, selected multiple bras, placed them in a backpack, and exited the store. The first suspect proceeded to put back a long dress that he was holding, purchased a small item with cash, and then left the store. An officer and a lieutenant located both suspects and recovered 26 bras worth approximately $1,526. Meanwhile, the vehicle the suspects had arrived in was located. Inside the unlocked vehicle, officers found a roll of black trash bags, a tool to remove security sensors, a bag containing multiple removed sensors, and a large duffle bag in the trunk containing two black trash bags filled with bras. The first suspect, a 55-year-old Los Angeles resident, and the second suspect, a 23-year-old Los Angeles resident, were arrested and booked into jail for organized retail theft, burglary, and possession of burglary tools.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
