Advisory

NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE: GARDNERTOWN BRIDGE REHABILITATION TO BEGIN ON OR AROUND APRIL 7TH AND LASTING APPROX. 90 DAYS

On or about April 7th, the Orange County Department of Public Works will close a portion of Gardnertown Road in the Town of Newburgh to rehabilitate the Gardnertown Bridge.  This work will begin near the intersection of Gardnertown Road and Plattekill Turnpike and continue westward to an area adjacent to the intersection with the Town of Newburgh Police Department entrance/exit.

The rehabilitation of the Gardnertown Bridge will result in Gardnertown Road being closed to all through traffic for about ninety (90) calendar days.  Traffic control devices will be in place and detour routes will be clearly marked.

Normal through traffic using this portion of Gardnertown Road must use alternate routes or signed detoured routing for New York State (NYS) Route 52, NYS Route 300, and Powder Mill Road to be utilized.

Members of the public are encouraged to adhere to the traffic control devices and follow the detour routes as required.

In case of inclement weather or other unforeseen issues, the timeframe to rehabilitate the Gardnertown Bridge may be extended as needed.
