* At 209 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Hoopeston to Vermilion Regional Airport to 6 miles north of Vermilion, moving east at 70 mph. THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR eastern Champaign, Vermilion, and northern Edgar Counties. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Emergency management. Emergency managers have reported widespread wind damage, including structural damage in eastern Champaign County. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.
